Been into dirt my whole life and I have been throwing around the idea of a CT70. I found one local for a decent deal and am thinking of picking it up but I want to get some more info. -What are the best years to get? -Any specific model best (Dax, K1, etc)? -Any parts I should make sure are there due to difficult avaliability? And lastly, what are you thoughts on this thing, its an 84 and it has been repainted... My plans are to buy one complete, that runs with current registration, and then do a frame up rebuild and mod it. |

As far as the best year, we'll all have our own opinions on this.. My opinion is an imported Dax would be the most exotic, then early 70s HKO's then the early KOs... (I'm not into winkers).... You can make almost any bike really nice.. All depends on what you like, how fast you want to go and how much you want to spend... Good-cheap-fast You can only pick two... | |

Thanks Dan. Do you know if any issues arise out of swapping motors? (#'s wise) |

| Re: CT70 Info Needed Funny you should ask... I've actually never been stopped before, and I ride my bike all around town on weekends.... I can't imagine a cop really looking that hard.. Yes, it's totally possible..

I will be doing a motor swap so I'm not too worried about the 6v motors. So it sounds like they are all pretty much the same... ?? |

Yes most years are the same. I disagree on the 91-93 being the best. They lost their Trail 70ness. 74' was the first year for turn signals. Also the newer you go the less chrome you get (which could be bad or good depending on the person)
