CT70 Stock Chain Clearance?

Can anyone measure and/or take a picture to tell me how much chain/sprocket clearance they have against the stock swingarm? I no longer have any stock wheel setups and I want to make sure I offset my sprocket from the swinger as close to original as possible to make sure my chain is straight.

My biggest concern right now is my Green CT with the spoked wheels. To get the tire centered, it seems like I have the sprocket awefully close to the side of the swinger...the chain and sprocket clear and it looks straight, but I don't want it to LOOK straight going 70mph...I want it to BE straight.

Thanks guys.

Fatcat, Do you mean to top of the swinger? With stock sprockets and wheels I come up with 3/4" with the chain too loose and 7/8"'s by pushing the slack out from the bottom.

No...not that. I'm talking left to right as in when you center your tire with the spacers and whatnot...how much distance is there from the inner portion of the swing arm to the outer portion of the sprocket. As a matter of fact, the bolts that are holding my sprocket on are just grazing the stock swing arm shock bolt on the inside as it spins. I need to either offset the wheel a fraction or buy some smaller headed bolts.

However, I just want to know the distance from the inner surface of the swinger to the outer surface of the sprocket on a stock ct70 setup. I can then mimic it with this spoked wheel and hub.

Got it, stock mine does not have bolts and I can see why. I have 1/4 to 5/16's" tops.

Excellent. Thanks for the input. Stock they don't have bolts...but I am running aftermarket wheels and I have 1/4" bolt heads sticking out the top. So I either have to get smaller bolts, drill in some chamfers, or grind off a tad on the swinger. I'm going to try new shorter bolts first I suppose. I am at 1/4" near exact on my spacing.

Sounds like a fun project. I measured my 3 speed for you but glanced at my H out of curiousity and the tensioner tabs on that swinger are so tweaked they actually rub (or have)!

Thanks for raising the question, I might not have noticed on the beater.
