CT70 suspension

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knew where I can buy a pair of new fork legs for a CT70. I also for some reason the two rear shocks wont compress but if I bounce on the seat really hard they will go down but get stuck.... Possibly need to be rebuilt? I was also wondering if anyone knew what year they started putting blinkers on the CT70's I have a 1969 that im restoring right now and i looked on the cover of the clymer book and saw blinkers so for some reason i thought they ran blikers but it was a 110. I dunno if there is a way i can run them or not. Let me know please. Thanks!

Re: CT70 suspension

1971 Did not have blinkers. I ended up putting some on my 1971
Nice Low Profiles for the front (LED's)
For the rear I got an Arlen Ness Chroms Lic Plate Frame with turn signals built into it.
You can get replacement shocks for 30.00 on Ebay. New ones even (China's best but they work)

Re: CT70 suspension

Fork legs, get on Ebay and buy a front end, can be had for less than $100. Blinkers began in 1974 K3 model, came in green and orange (I think). Rear shocks are a piece of crap, get some aftermarket cheap ones or go High end Japanese $$$$. You can also convert front end to oil filled which is a much better ride and safer also. Good luck

Ok. Man this is so stressful. It's so hard finding the right parts... I don't even know where to start. Does anyone sell a screw kit?

Re: CT70 suspension

First of all, you need to find out the year of your bike, then go find a parts manual for that particular year. They have every part and part number listed for your bike.

Re: CT70 suspension

You need a parts manual in addition to a Clymer manual. Parts manuals have all the part numbers for the specific year bikes. You need both.

While it will bolt onto an early CT70, the steering stop setup is not compatible with the older frames.

I know what you mean! You could do like I've been doing making multiple orders and buying and fixing things piece meal. Including parts that don't fit and that I don't really need I believe that my approach is called "Trial and error". I am re-thinking and may just start over, and go thought everything back to front and order and install 'all new' parts.

Good Luck!

Re: CT70 suspension

Does anyone know where I can find some shock bolts (the ones that secure the shocks to the frame)?
