Buddy of mine took a CRF50 exhaust and we welded the tabs on for the stock CT exhaust shield. He seems to like it. |

I rocked a crf50 stock exhaust on my ct70 when i first got it, it was alright but super restricting to air flow. I'm sure you can mod the pipe to work tho.

I have made a few over the years and always started by making a small insert which is a push fit into the exhaust port and the internal diameter is exactly the same size as the exhaust gasket. I use counter bored Allen head screws and it allows for a decent sized pipe to be welded on to the insert and machined back to give a neat finish, be that made of titanium or steel ready for chroming. I have drawings of the insert somewhere - but it is not hard to draw another one up if you want one. Pretty easy to turn on a lathe and then machine four flats on it using a milling machine, any decent machine shop will be able to knock you one up. Depending upon what cc you are running you may wish to run a smaller diameter hole and smaller diameter pipe - the one in the ohots below was for a BIG cc engine Here are a couple of photos of the insert and one of the finished system. |

My Mood: | Re: Custom exhaust using crf50 header? UPDATE
UPDATE: Here is what I have so far: Its an SDG exhaust I picked up for $20 on ebay. It looks like the minigunz pipe and its straight through. Only downside is it points right at the shocks. </br> |
