| Dillema... new motor or redo existing 50 (77)
well here's my problem, redid all of my 50 frame, suspension etc, and put it all back together but the stock motor that came with the bike has a couple issues, which would probably require a fair amount of motor work, resulting in the upgrade to an 88 kit while I'm at it..... now here's my question, since its been strictly a mod bike, should I spend all that money on the existing old motor, or just buy a complete chinese 88 motor?? also I just want a bolt in that doesn't require any modding, is this possible? and what size of motor? brand? would anyone reccomend? price estimates are welcome too.... Thanks...more power is a plus too though.... |

Most bang for the buck. I found the Lifan semi-auto to be very reliable. Have the 70cc & 90cc to be excellent. If you what to kick it in the ass, go with 90cc. Put in a set of BBR clutch springs in the lifan clutch. That all you need there. Pick up a lightened flywheel from T-Bolt. Use the carb that comes with it or better yet get a TBparts 20mm. Put in a 92 main jet. Minigunz.com pipe Have done this in quite a few Z's will great results. Run a 16t frt./ 34t rear sprocket. With a 225lb rider - Radar proven - 45 mph top end. And still a good set for dirt too! You can just keep rollin on in 2 & 3rd gears. Hope this helps. Just my opinion, others may disagree. |
