| Do you ever feel sorry for bikes?
I did when I saw this. Why are people so stupid as to treat something this badly? If it was closer, I'd buy it and paint it and get it running. The price is a great deal for a bike minus the seat. I could do the CRF50 swingarm modification. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1980-...29300027QQrdZ1 |

That auction reminds me of my bike when I got it. I gave $60 for it at a local swap meet on Memorial Day of this year. It didn't run and it was very rough with a piece of plastic from a milk jug for a front fender. The paint didn't look as bad as the one in the auction, but it was solid silver. Engine, tires, frame, chrome, everything had a coat of bright silver from a rattle can! /dayj1 |

I have sand paper at home so that's free. A rattle can would cost about $5. It would be fun. I could make it a trials bike with no seat.

I know a guy who inspects junk yards and salvage recycling places for ground water contamination. He as found over the years maybe 80 [I'm guessing, prolly more] mini type bikes Z , Ct, SL... It's unbelievable what is thrown away. I went to his home once, it was like mini bike heaven. I'm told he has even more minis at his parents ranch. Yes, it's a shame how they are neglected. |

I have an entry. I took this trampoline of crap parts, added this other neglected z, some kitaco parts, some road bike parts, some fabricated parts, some mountain bike parts and ended up with a cool little mini that I love. |

^^^ looks like a mint beater, Different frame in the second pic to the end product.. I dont know much about Z'd but it looks like a old hardtail frame with a swinger on it.. looks cool. Disk brake on the front seems a bit over the top.. guess that was the part was in the MB parts pile. WELL DONE |

If point A is welded to the main frame, and point B is welded to the swingarm, and it looks as though the upper shock mount is welded to the tubing that mikep added. That now makes the rear shock just a space filler, to prevent the swingarm from collapsing, there will be no dampening effect by the shock. It is, in effect, a hardtail. Eventually, you may have to check point B for stress cracks in the weld. | |
