dog chews up z50 seat

so my dad got a new dog. first thing she chewed up was the header wrap on the first bend, i just cut that part off and rolled the good part up and put the clamp around it. It still shields the oil lines from the pipe so i was ok with it. And she chewed holes threw the pre-filter for the intake. and even jumped and got a few bites out of the bar-pad

so i put a cabinet door down by the pipe so she couldnt get to it.

then i go to take the throttle off it to put onto the knockoff so i can take it to the desert over new years, and i find this........

i am so mad. anyone know if i can buy foam and a cover from a vendor somewhere? i took the bike from the shed and stuffed it into the garage

im just really pissed off right now

Fast Fifties sells a really nice signature cover, and you can find them on E-bay as repops. I don't know if anyone sells the foam, but you could get some foam and patch it up before re-covering.

I think you Dad ought to bear the cost of this....

Nobody sells the Honda seat foam for the Z50R's. You'll have to improvise.

Honda still sells the OEM Honda covers if you need one.

Kill the dog. Make it look like the neighbor did it or you little sister if applicable.

Just kidding. On a more serious note, I think the Fast 50's cover would be a nice addition. And for the foam, just get some foam and cut it to fit nicely. The more careful you are to make it fit, the better it'll come out. And I think your dad should pay for it. If the dog ever messes with precious foam parts, shave off some patches of fur.

Re: dog chews up z50 seat

A .22 bullet only costs about $.05 compared to a $35 seat cover. Just think of it as protecting the rest of your bike.

I think you know what needs to be done........

Re: dog chews up z50 seat

You can order the Seat cover from Service Honda for about $30 plus shipping. There are different ones for each year, so you need to know which year to get the correct part number.

You can also still order the whole seat (I did this last year at least) and they still show them as available. Again, you need the year for the correct part number. Service sells them for about $85 plus shipping. That is for part number 77200-GW8-A10ZA which is listed as the part for the 94, 95, 96, 97 and 99. The 98 lists a 77200-GW8-A00ZA for the same price.

Hooper Imports sells the Cub seat, which is the same seat basically but without the honda logo. It would get you a complete new base and foam, but then you'd need to get the honda cover, so it would be about the same as ordering the factory seat if that is what you want.

If you order a seat cover for Honda, don't be suprised if they send you the 1998-1998 model seat cover. Alot of those seat covers have been superceded to what they have left.

Re: dog chews up z50 seat

Put the bike back in the shed. Then wire it up with a fence "hot wire". Like for horses. Should only need it on there one time. Dog probably won't even go back in the shed after the first time it gets shocked.
