Light brightness dependent upon RPM. No lights with engine off. (read: no stealth mode) |

Your turn signals will go nuts at idle. Your lights will flicker at idle and if you run an electronic or LCD speedo, it also won't like it very much at idle. I prefer the battery and since 12V batteries can be pretty small these days, I don't see the need to go without one.

If your riding on the street and your engine stalls at an intersection, its nice to have a working taillight, brakelight and winkers !!! |

I run them and my headlight and taillight do NOT flicker. Steady and bright. Have not used in a bike with winkers yet. I run 12v 35w headlight bulbs. Compared to a stock 6v headlight, its a search beam. |

| Re: Down side to a Battery Eliminator? Upon further thought on this subject, I was mistaken. It was my LCD speedo that was cutting out and the turn signals going nuts at idle. I wasn't paying attention to the headlamp. When I removed the battery elim, the turn signals and LCD speedo stabilized.

I have found that LED tailights and side markers tend to burn out quickly with an Batt. El. Less draw than a filiment bulb causing the voltage to increase beyond 12-13v at high rpm's. Poor voltage regulators.
