Dumb question about 6 volt motor

My understanding is that the 6v motors ran on points and condensors and the 12v ran on cdi, but can there be a 6v cdi motor? Please enlighten the newb.

yup you may want to see if you can run a 12 volt stator on that motor and go to a 12 volt CDI. Hit my email up may have another option for you to get that thing going.

i want try and run the what i have cause it'll be a waste of a factorymotorsports built! 88. and if the tranny breaks i may just swap out the 88 to a z50 honda bottom end.

the tranny isnt too bad for its use.....but if you started to abuse it it wouldnt hold up.

i would definitly get that one working before buying another one.....a large project for sure. you have a perfectly good bike there. i would consider re-wiring the bike in all and just know exactly what is what....

find a wiring diagrahm and go to town.
