Engine Stand for the Engine Builder...

Finally! Shift up just came out with their Z50/CT/CRF style engine stand that you can actually use to rebuild the engine on. I have a daytona stand this is good for general maintanance, but you can't split the cases on the stand.

I've used a wood frame for dropping in gearboxes in the past, but this is a slick little setup. I may have to get one of these.

10,500 Yen and a boatload to have them shipped due to the weight.

Man, that is neat. Especially after the other night wrestling with this drooling grubby set of cases laying on their side on my workbench. Another shirt bites the dust.

Re: Engine Stand for the Engine Builder...

I have been playing around with a design and I think I will build one this weekend. A little different than mine but still along the same lines. After extending three swingarms that turned out perfectly. I am looking for fabrication projects!!! Sick. I am going to use square channel (cause I have a bunch). But I'll keep you posted. Maybe I'll make a couple for my "friends"!

Re: Engine Stand for the Engine Builder...

yella, you guys don't understand. I read on here about all the engine work and that is hard for me. It takes me twice as long and 4 tries as you guys and 4 tries to get stuff right. Paint and electrical is worse. I am just glad I have something I can contribute! I enjoy it all and learn a ton from you guys . Just want to make sure I am putting back into the "pot" that I so frequently take from!

Re: Engine Stand for the Engine Builder...

I'm not a engine builder or anything, but perhaps if the design allowed for removable legs... one would be able to flip it on any side and not have a third leg over one of the top sides which would kind of be in the way?

Cool stand, nonetheless.

Re: Engine Stand for the Engine Builder...

The 12" piece of angle iron with two holes drilled in it, clamped in the vice at whatever angle I need, has got me through the couple engine builds I've done. I drop the lump on a triple-trick machined aluminum TK stand when someone's coming by to check out the shed
