| Extended Brake Rod
Does anyone know a dealer in the US that carries extended rear brake rods for a z50a? Classic Honda sells them with their extended swingarms but I don't see them listed separately. If all else fails, I'll give them a call. I shortened an xr70 swingarm such that it is 2 inches longer than a stock z50 swingarm, so I need a rod about 14 inches long. Does anyone happen to know if this is close to another bike such as a crf/xr50 or something else? /dayj1 |

I had been looking at dratv's site in the z50 parts and hadn't seen one. So I did a search on the entire site and found a ct70 brake rod where he has a tape measure next to it and it's 15 inches long. The ct70 brake rod is straight and by the time I bend an offset in it for the z50, it ought to come close to the 14 inches that I need. Thanks for the help. /dayj1 |

http://www.fast50s.com/cart/customer...&cat=19&page=2 They're listed for a crf50. The wierd thing to me is that for a z50, they list a stock length and stock + 1 inch, which are 10 7/8 and 11 7/8. The one that I have is 12 1/4 and needs to be 2 inches longer! I guess a z50r and z50a rod are not the same? Thanks. /dayj1

True. It would be a whole lot easier than the effort that I put into shortening the swingarm. It may come down to that, but it looks like they are available for less than $10. /dayj1

i used my stock brake rid when i went +3 on my swinger. i just went to the ace hardware, and picked up a new short rod and an adapter that fit. but the new shorter rod has to be threaded opposite on both ends of each other, if you know what i mean. but you might not have a brake rod all together
