Gas Tanks

Are there any aftermarket tanks than will fit a 1973 z50, other than the plastic Clarke gas tanks?

Re: Gas Tanks

I did some research when I bought my Clark plastic tank and only found one tank through (Honda50.com) which was a aluminum tank for $500.00 + shipping and I do not know if they are available anymore -- That's why I bought the Clark tank and Note -- NO stickers will stick to the Clark tank-- they all peel up over a course of a few days -- this I found out later -- You would think that there are so many other tank re manufacturing co's copying the old K1&K2 tanks that they would copy the Z50 tank as the handlebar knobs dent the tanks just as bad as the older ones did --

Re: Gas Tanks

The aluminum Big Cedar tanks are still available and have a relocated petcock so you can run a big carb without interference. Nobody has made the tanks out of steel overseas because the chinese haven't copied that model of bike yet.

They copied the K1 and K2 and those reproduction tanks are a byproduct.

Shift-up makes the K3-78 tanks, but they are only made to mount on a 1979+ Z50 or Honda Monkey frameset, and not the K3-78.

If you want to keep your bike and have a tank that will never rust, the Big Cedar aluminum tanks are the best option going. But obviously not a cheap option.

I have one on my 1976 shown on Honda50.com..
