| gearing choice for my gpx140???
I've done a search and found similar engines, but not exactly what I have. 120/90/10 bopper tires, and I want to order some sprockets. This bike's gonna be used for the street only. From what i've read, 17/32 is probably a good place to start, but I don't want to end up buying tons of gears before I find what I like. Should I just get a 30t rear and drop to a 16 front if it's too much on top? Thanks

My GPX177V2 is geared 17/31 on the same size tire as you have. This gearing is a little too short IMO and I think a 17/29 would wind up optional. Now, I did have a Jialing 157cc in there and 17/31 was about spot on. With only a stock 140, I'd probably tell ya to find a 33t rear sprocket and experiment with the front in 16 and 17 variety. |
