| Got to do some work today
I snuck in some time to work on my bike while I was home alone. It came to my attention when looking at old pictures and old posts that my rear fender may not look like it was far enough back when I install my +4 swingarm. I read that a +2 centers the wheel in the fender. Since I have a +4, I made some +2 mounts for my rear fender. How do they look? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I'm only planning on the swingarm at this point. I'm not going to pay big bucks to get R-120 Blaze red. I'm thinking about silver or black for the swingarm.

Are you sure those new mounts are going to get hit by the extended swinger coming up?

I don't think so. Those pictures are with 280mm shocks installed. I have bought but not installed a set of 335mm shocks. So they should be good.

I sold the 280mm shocks and my dad let me put on the 335mm shocks. They are a lot taller than I thought. Later, I put on the back fender to see how that would look. Looks a bit weird. But it should be hidden by the right number plate when I put back the original exhaust and number plate. I also bent the brake rod so that it could be routed to the bottom of the swingarm. I just think it looks better. ![]() |

I can't ride or work on my bike because I got a C in history class. I have to have all As and Bs to ride it. The shocks are 335mm. I think 330 would have bee better. But I couldn't turn down an awesome deal. Z88R, you are the man!

Q, alittle point of interest. Do you realize with those shocks and swing that when you drop that bike on the ground its going to have the stance of a drag bike? I think you are going to need +1" fork legs legs to bring it up. I am building a Z50R w/ an XR swingarm now w/ 330 mm shocks and needed +1's to level it out. Those shocks you have will be super stiff w/ considering your weight too. Just a thought.

Yeah. They will be stiff. I realize that. But for the forks, I have a set of CRF50 forks that I plan to use with a CRF50 10 inch wheel. The forks themselves are +1 compared to Z50R forks. And I think that a CRF50 front wheel with stock tire is pretty close to Z50R wheels. Even though the wheel is bigger, the tires are a lower profile and look about the same and Z50 tires in outer diameter. I heard that the CT70 shocks(what I have) would be softer, but they are just the same as the 280mm XR75 shocks I had. I don't understand how anyone rides bikes with suspensions this stiff. Are CT70s and XR75s known for stiff suspension?

It would take about 20-30 minutes to take the bike off the stand, look at it, sit on it, push it around the basement, take some pictures and put it back on the stand. So next time I'm home alone long enough and sure I will be, I'll take it down.

I would think the angle will actually soften the spring rate a bit, even for someone as anorexic as Q No offence Q - but most of the rest of us could use something a bit stiffer..... | |
