i just got an offer for an old qa50 in really good condition and need to know if this is just a play bike to mess around with or a restoration project.. im getting it for 60$ and all thats wrong is some chipped paint and needs a new seat and muffler.... can anyone tell me how much this thing should be worth? and maybe about how much after restoring it? EDIT: Runs great too! |

Bad deal. You should just give me his number and let me buy it. I don't want you spending too much.

lol actually im friends with glamisrcr04 and i didnt want to ask to many questions right off the bat. i'll post some pictures of it tomorrow. all it needed to run was a carbuerator cleaning and a bumpstart. i got a really good deal on it i think. the paints pretty good all around and it runs good, but i have big plans for it. GPX engine, powdercoat, and a paint job as well as tires and all of that good stuff.

I'm pretty sure the only way to stick a newer honda engine or a 125cc clone in it is to lengthen the frames backbone by a few inches. The qa is such a short bike that a longer engine doesn't fit in without serious modification. I held my honda 50 engine up to the qa frame and it looked to me like it would never fit without bigtime mods. A member here fit a newer honda 50 engine in a qa. The bike was grey and really looked good. I forget who it was but his posts are probably still availible here somewhere. |
