Help....I forget which head stud goes where...

I am literally in my garage with a 69 z50a motor pulled apart. I had to take the studs out to do a better job at removing the base gasket. Now I forget which side the longer studs are suppose to go on. I believe it is the side that kickstart is on (right crankcase). Someone please confirm this?

Looking at the crank case hole head on it's the right side ones..number 7 on the schematic. Number 7's are 196mm and number 8's are 188mm.

Re: Help....I forget which head stud goes where...

I think I figured it out and here is how I have it: The longer ones have a small shoulder and are on the spark plug/kickstart side of the motor. The shoulder is still visible above above the block when they are installed. The shorter ones have the big shoulder that actually dissapears down into the block. If someone could check me on this I'd be grateful.....

The two studs with the fatter base go on the left side of the engine, alongside the cam chain. They are the studs that have the dowel pins in place before sliding the cylinder into place.
