My Mood: | HELP! (stallin when wide open) c70 engine tecs?
Alright guys, since gas is rediculous, ive been riding my passport 70 all over the place lately. its a 81 passport which i got for 110 bucks a few years ago. I put a pipe on it (homemade) and just finished putting a 88 kit in it. Put a larger carb with a 80 main and a 38 piolet. the plug is a decent chocolate color. Problem ive had since ive had it. If i leave it tapped out for 15 to 30 seconds 3rd gear (it varies) it kills out on me. Almost like either i run out of fuel or like you hit the kill switch by accident. Then when i let off and roll for awhile it will come back to life and ill be back on my way and the same thing will happen. I can cruise around all day long at 30 but as soon as i reach 40 mph + this happens. Ive tried mulitiple carbs. Thinking i was running out of fuel but i tried a 26mm oko (had one laying around) and incredibly with the 88 kit it runs fairly decent but the same thing happens even quicker than with a smaller carb. Put new fuel lines thinking it might not be getting enough flow but that didn't help either. Ive spent hours on the points and there conveinent enough that you can mess with them while it is running.(see photos) question is what else coud it be? Im going to order some new points and see if that helps, Since theres alot of miles on this 6846 to be exact could at high revs cause them to fail? heres a few shots of it, Trust me its not pretty, but thats the point its a scooter and supose to be but ugly. ![]() Custom rear fender (had a bunch of cancer) so i cut it right off haha. Doesnt look to bad. To boot i have a kx100 rear tire bald for street use haha. ![]() ![]() shot of points |

I had a problem like this with a RS50 and it ended up being the petcock was semi clogged and not allowing the fuel to flow fast enough. Bike would run fine at slow speed and idling but open it up and it would suck the fuel faster than it would be supplied.

mmm the twins, which one is this? You better be wearing an egg helmet and aviator goggles while riding that thing. |

Might want to actually check the flow from the fuel lines. Disconnect the fuel line from the carb and check how well gas flows out.

sweet finally some replies but ive tried all of these. Put new lines on it that are beyond bigger than they should slayer so its dumpin fuel into the carb. Fatcaaat the floats on this particular carb is the plastic ones so you cant actually adjust it. I know what your talking about when theres the metal piece on the float you can bend it either way to increase or decrease. I think i might try and find one of those and drop it in there to see if that helps. T313M dont worry im always rockin my open face helmet and oakleys haha. |
