I bought a top end gasket kit but cant figure out where this seal goes? Is it a valve guide seal? thanks!!!

check the base of your cylinder,or between head and cylinder.i am not positive,but i know the newer crf/xr 50's use some type of rubber o-ring/seal in those areas

Bottom of cylinder has one the opening is smaller, with gasket on you should see where it goes, meaning thereis a wear mark on base of cylinder usually where the old one was. I think the orange one goes to the smaller hole. post up a pick or too and I will tell you.

Looks like a valve guide seal for a 6v Honda engine. You dont use it on the newer cdi engines.

Valve seal. You don't need it unless you have points ignition.

It looks way too big to be a valve stem seal. It is way to big compared to the needle nose. I bought an engine rebuild kit and got the same gasket that you did. I belive it is for the oil passage at the base of the cylinder or the base of the cylinder head.

It is a 6V valve guide seal (part #6, below), like just about everyone else has said. It is held in place on the valve guide by the valve stem seal cap (part #7, below). On the 1976 Z50A, it was used only on the exhaust valve.

It is a valve guide seal.The oil passage seal is just a green O ring.I had the question when I installed my 88 kit.
