| Honda Dax/ST70?
I came across a plated 1971 ST70 that I'm about 90% certain that I'm going to buy, but before I get to that 100% certain part I'd like to ask the experts here about it. Similar to CT70? Interchangeable parts? I'm basically deciding between this bike and a 2001 Jincheng CT70 clone, both are plated and the Honda is cheaper (which makes me want it more, and it's a real honda). Is it a worthwhile buy? (here's a pic of it from the CL ad) |

The ST is probably even more desireable than a CT, as they are far less common in the states, even though they are the same bike. The extras are slightly different, sometimes different fenders or lights and I believe the ST does not come with a skid plate. I'd snag it up pronto! |

I would get the ST hands down over the Chinky Clone bike. The ST had slight differences to the CT, but is a much more desireable bike and all the US Spec CT70 restoration parts will fit with ease. Some of the ST gearboxes were 1 down, 2 up on the 3 speeds, and 1 down, 3 up gearbox on the 4 speeds. If you don't end up buying the bike, post the CL link as I'm sure someone else here would jump on it. |

Looks like I'm going to be picking this up tomorrow for $700. He's got the title and registration in hand, it's currently non-op in his name but it's up to date. The only issue is that the tranny needs some work, I guess worst case is I spend 150 bucks for a new tranny from Dr Atv or something, right? |
