Honda Z50J Finland edition ![]() The Finnish model doesn't have signal lights, taller handlebars, different taillight assembly, doesn't have the rear rack. Honda Z50J Japanese models ![]() The Z50J Japanese & General Export models are similar in looks but have different engines. |

| Re: Honda z50j Finland. Honda Monkey ? Wikipedia JoetaiLin moposivut - Honda Z50 Monkey Some info there. Maybe you can read finnish. I think the engine is nearly the same as the one in US models. Carb might be smaller in Finland due to the 45 km/h speed limit (9mm carb in Finland). In Finland the four speed trans and cdi ignition came at 1987, but the bikes still have a 6 volt electrical system (not sure about that, those links state so). I think the cdi come some years earlier in the USA, and the electrical system blew 12 volt at the same time. |

All the above are correct, I imported a Honda Monkey to England from Finland in 2001. It's a 1993 4 speed manual c/w 6v electrics, Had an engine built in Japan with 6v outer rotor on it etc, good bike & after a resto it's my favourite Monkey out of my small collection.

I've no before pictures of my Finland Monkey as they were all taken on old type film & developed. Heres the Finland Monkey restored. ![]() When I got it the frame was pink, green wheels, black tank which was a standard Finland colour. The rear light was the same as the picture goldie has posted, I just simply unbolted the light & the Takegawa rack bolted on no messin about required... | |
