Honda z50r aftermarket exhaust

Hey, I'm in the process of rebuilding my 1981 z50r at the moment and I'm not sure what the best exhaust to go for would be?

I'm hoping to get the z road legal (I stay in the UK), which means the exhaust cant be too loud. The bike is fitted with a 90cc engine from a honda cub.

I've been looking on the MonkeybikeUK website and quite fancy the Takegowa standard style high performance one. I also like the look of the procircuit one I've seen fitted to a few bike on here, but how loud would it be?

Any advice/pics would be apprecited.

Cheers
Ross

Hello Ross. I'm over in northern Ireland and also have an 81 z50r. I've a c90 ready to strip here and transfer the engine, loom and cdi. Did you do your conversion yourself, and have you any advice for me. And also, does the standard exhaust fit?

Re: Honda z50r aftermarket exhaust

Exhaust normally fit, but the head is 6mm further forward which sometimes makes fitment of stock exhaust a pain. I have the takegawa bomber and don't really like it much. I love my minigunz pipe. The yosh pipes are really nice as well. DRATV had a kit to fit a 90 motor in a 50, I'm not sure if they had a kit for the opposite. You basically need to make a rear mount and foot pegs.

Hi. I didn't do the conversion myself, my cousin had done it before I bought it from him. He made a really neat job of it, and fitted the electrics in behid the l/h side cover. When I got the bike it had the standard exhaust on it which seemed to fit fine. It also had the standard 50cc carb on it, so I had to buy the angled inlet manifold and k and n air filter in order to fit the 90cc carb from the cub.
