| How do you advance the timing on a z50r 6V
okay I want to know how i go about advancing the timing on a z50r? and Could some one put it in step by step plez

1. Remove the alternator cover by taking out the 3 8mm bolts. 2. Turn the flywheel COUNTERCLOCKWISE until the T on the flywheel lines up with the mark on the case. 3. Look into the hole in the flywheel(the one closer to the front). There should be a phillips type screw holding the points to the case. 4. Loosen this screw. 5. There is a notch in the case and a notch in the point plate. These two are used together with a flat screwdriver to turn the point plate. Turning it clockwise advances the timing. Turning it counterclockwise retards the timing. 6. Once you have the timing wet where you want it, tighten the phillips type screw. Do not replace the cover because further adjustment may be necessesary. 7. Start the engine and check for unwanted sounds or backfiring. If there is a malfunction, go back to step 2. If not, replace the alternator cover and tighten the 3 8mm bolts to 8 foot/pounds. |
