| How to fix a broken rear shock mount
Hi on my lynx z50 it has snapped off the threads on the left back shock but still has the rest intact just not the threads. What is the best way to fix and make sure it is stong?

Im not sure about the lynx, but I had to repair one and there might be more easy ways, I machined up a stud and ground the old one out and tig welded a new one in, you might be able to use a metric bolt and cut the head off but I left a flange on mine so it would be good and stong. You could grind the remaining stud on a 30 degree angle or so and do the same with a couple inches of threads or so and weld the two together, I know I would trust it but it wouldnt look as nice. Either way its a bit of work and some welding. Good luck. |

sorry that is part of the frame.the best was is to find a used z50r frame.if you weld it or put just a stud it wont hold weight.if you had a stud to go all the way through the frame from complete end to end.left shock to right it would work but you cant just fix one side.
