How to raise the stall speed on the clutch?

I need to raise the stall speed on the clutch. I've seen the clutch springs that say they won't slip, but do they effect the rpm of the clutch engagement?

I want to keep the auto clutch for now, but am tired of not being able to start on steep hills. A few steps with the old legs and it gets going, so there is enough power once the rpms pick up.

I don't know what rpm it comes in at but it isn't very high. I know I'm comparing apples and oranges but my boys KTM LC 50 doesn't engage the clutch until 8,000 rpms. I don't want anything like that but it would be nice to increase the stall about 1,000 rpm.

This actually does nothing to adjust the engagement point. This only adjusts when the clutch deactivates relative to the movement of the shift shaft. Only lighter clutch weights can adjust engagement point.

Re: How to raise the stall speed on the clutch?

When I first got the bike, it would lurch forward when I'd shift into gear. I didn't want the bike to move unless I gave it some sauce. When I loosened that nut/screw combo and adjusted it I got the results I needed.

That might not have anything to do with what you're saying though.. I should read your post again.

Can the weights be drilled to decrease the weight?

Anybody done this before? I bet its been done, so how much weight to remove and from what part?

Probably possible. I've never done it. If I wanted to get the clutch to engage faster, I'd just buy the titanium weights from Powroll. A lighter flywheel does not engage the clutch later. It will just get to the same engagement speed in less time.

Ti clutch weights.
