I can't put tire on!

I've got a Z50 K4 with the two piece steel rims.
I rebuilt the rims and hubs and put the wheels all back together prior to trying to put the tire on.

There is no way I can stretch beads on these new Bridgestones. Am I supposed to put the rim halves together between the tires or mount the tire on after the rims are assembled like I'm trying to do now.

I can't see how I'm possibly going to get these tires on with the rims assembled.

Thanks for any help.

You have to put the rims in the tire then bolt them together.

put the rims on the tire with tube inside and lay it on the ground, then have someone compress the rims togeather by standing on the tire. you should be able to start the bolts and then air up the tube enough to where its not getting pinched between the rims. Tighten all four bolts real well and then air the tube up until it stops. the air should press the tire bead all the way against the rim and then adjust your tire psi where needed. when you bolt the hub on , ensure you locktight the hardware. hope this helps you and good luck.

Man! Thanks guys. No wonder I was having so much trouble.

Everything I found when I searched was for putting the tire on a one-piece rim, so I figured thats how I had to do it on these split rim deals.

It makes more sense to me to split the rims when installing the tire, but I didn't want to mess it up after spending so much time restoring them.

Thanks for confirming the split rim approach.
