| I have TWINS !!!
This one followed me home today. It was born in the same month and year as my 1st Z50R... 5/83. Twins... Weird. Didn't run when I got it. The carb was pretty dirty from sitting. I cleaned it, got it running but not well. Just for kicks, I popped on the 19mm carb/manifold/air cleaner that came with my 125cc loncin and she ran great! Gotta get some new tires and maybe brake shoes and she's a runner. I got new side panels for the nicer looking Z on the left but I need to find a pair of brackets that the panels mount to. Anyone have a set for sale? ![]() |

I wonder if all older z50r's are missing the rear rear fenders and all their seats are screwed up? There must be a crazy thief somewhere with a huge pile of z50r rear fenders! Quote:

the ZB motor has the roller cam which will give it a bit more HP, the z50r motor does not. maybe pushing close to 3 hp on ZB motor. You have to get a partner and do a drag race! tmas |

In the middle of the muffler there's a thing like a drain bolt. The pan that the bolt goes into has a gasket around it but the pan doesn't seem to be removable so I can change the gasket. What's that drain for? Carbon?

The pan is not removable. The drain bolt is for cleaning out whatever is dirty. Here are instructions. Page 16-4 in the Honda service manual, and page 33 in the Honda owner's manual. Isn't it nice having the manuals you need? ![]() ![]() |

thanks Q! My cap doesn't come off... I'm gonna twist it right off the muffler if I try any harder. If the housing doesn't come off how does honda expect you to change the gasket beneath it? Mine's bad and exhaust is coming from around it. |

I don't think it's a gasket, I think that it's welded. If it doesn't come off, Try heating up with a torch and then trying. Don't just heat it up by riding it, when you take it off, you could warp the contacting surface that connects to the head. If that doesn't work, I don't know.
