| I suppose this would go here?
So, it's got 3 wheels, and no suspension, it's still a vintage Honda mini. My newest project is this '83 ATC70 "Christmas Special". There was one blue one given to each dealer to raffle off around Christmas of '83, and being kids bikes, most of them were of course, abused, and ragged out to where they probably ended up with red plastic anyway. This one's also a little special because of the power plant, a 74 ATC90 engine. It like all used bikes has some issues, no air filter, needs a chain, tires (these are the original ohtsu's) a couple bearings, and the carb sorted out. I think it's an S90 carb, no integrated petcock, and whoever did the swap didn't put one in, I'm currently using vice grips on the line for a fuel shut off. Plan right now though is to just get what I need on to get it up and running, then moving onto making it look and sound good. I think what I'm going to do is stash away the original plastic and tank and buy a set of Maire plastics and find another tank to paint up. Anyway, onto the pics and a vid to get how it runs before I do anything (it bogs because it's lean due to the lack of an air filter). You can see, the big motor has had it's way with the front fender, as have the forks with the tank. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QXdKkExrws Last edited by TrikeKid; 12-02-2006 at 11:21 PM. |

Why where all my cool stuff comes from of course, my friends garage! I think I can count on one had the times I've walked in there and not bought something. He's got friends who know people with barns and yards full of old stuff, his buddy that's a meter reader for the local power company found this one sitting in a back yard. My friend is one of those people that just constantly has good deals falling into his lap, 64 Cub 50 for $250, Free ATC90, Free S90, Free Mitsubishi pickup, people just drop off old riding lawn mowers at his house now.

Some progress, tall bars donated by a 74 MX360 (dad put twinwalls on his and just didn't want to throw these out), finally can turn the bars without having to tuck my knees way into the tank, and I can sit on it without being on the back of the seat. They need to lose an inch or two on each side and I need to figure out a better brake lever setup though, it's just a DT360 front brake perch/lever upside down. I kinda went back on my keeping the original plastic intact thing with the front fender, it was trashed anyway, and plastic is expensive. I can't wait to change the tires out on this thing, there's so much slime and other crap in them they wiegh as much as small car tires |
