| Jincheng Monkey on Ebay.
Just passing this along. I wanted this bike but the logistics of picking it up in Florida just won't work for me. Maybe someone else here needs a parts bike thats mostly complete. Only good for another half hour or so... Ebay item 200391484516 |

As a followup, I did bid on another bike that was closer to home. Unfortunately, it will be very much a surprise as the ebay seller didn't post a single photo of it, so I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. I won this one for $100. I figure a runner with intact lights may not be all that bad. After all I was at the Barber Vintage Festival last week and saw non-running junkers for $50 to $150, and complete runners for $500. Fortunately, I have a ton of spare seats, fenders, shocks and other miscellaneous parts. I'll post pictures when I get it. "1973 Honda Mini - Trail 50 (49cc). Rideable but needs work. Engine runs, but dies unless the choke stays on. Transmission shifts through all the gears without slipping. Surface rust on several components: shocks, wheels, frame. Tires hold air, but are worn and weather cracked. Seat is torn around the base. Headlight and taillight are intact, but will not come on. Fold down handlebars function properly. Rear brake works, but the front brake needs to be adjusted." |

I'll may be disappointed, but now I'll have a pair of Z50AK3s to work on. I already had my own K3 from when I was a kid and I figure I can rehab 2 for not much more than doing 1. Now I'll have one for my kid to ride. | |

You're not in Alabama by any chance, are you? In getting a title for my K2 through ITS, I learned that Alabama wasn't a title state until 1975. Getting one "for your kid to ride" is a useful way to justify trashed-out minibikes choking your garage when your wife complains, as I also learned, but it's a lot of fun when you finally get it running and put your kid on it to ride. Have fun and take photos. The description in that ad sounds very much like the condition my K2 was in when I got it. If it's an accurate description, you'll be able to ride it as a beater with less elbow grease and $$ if you choose that route, which is pretty much what I've been doing. Either you are one lucky mutha, or that bike's a ringer and not the one you actually got for $100, or the seller really liked you a lot, or was abysmally out of touch. In other words, wow! I hope you are leaping around foolishly, giggling and high-fiving the dog. That bike looks pretty great. Doesn't look like it needs anything to me. That's what they looked like--just like that--when we were kids and using such vehicles on actual dirt trails day in and day out. |

Why couldn't I have seen this earlier?!! I really hope the bidder was a non paying out of state member and he didn't sell it yet.

My Mood: | Re: Jincheng Monkey on Ebay. That's never stopped out of state people from emailing/calling me about shipping motors and other doohickies I might've had for sale on Craigslist. Could be a wishful thinker(like myself now) that thought he could possibly get the guy to ship to the bike in boxes. *crossing fingers, toes, and eyes*
