| jumping set ups?
Ok i was out ripping around tonight on my Z and came accross a dinky little track that had a small jump like 1 1/2 foot high, hit a bunch of times in second not screaming since it was outta a turn but was getting a small amount of air bottoming the front pretty bad since it was to flat. Anyways from a stock z50 what would be the best mods to do for jumping/stunting on some what of a budget? I'm in the process of making an aluminum handle bar riser at work that'll give me 2" of hight as well as moving my bars 2" forward, I think that would deffently make a big difference. I don't know if larger 10" wheels would help or if +1 forks would make a difference either. Just looking for others experiances. oh and how easy should it be to wheelie this thing? Seen a bunch of videos and it looks soo easy like 1st gear sitting down and pop into a huge wheelie like WTF?? |

I've got a '92 Z, and i can't wheelie if my life depended on it. I like to keep both wheels on the ground. As far as suspension goes, all the XR/CRF stuff is usually universal - so toss on a set of stiff springs, and maybe some +1 chromoly legs, and you will be set in the front. As far as rear springs, those are almost always uber expensive. Hope you get it up and going - DAVE |

95 z50, that thing is so easy to wheelie, i am running the hd springs and +1 legs up front, put xr70 shocks on the rear, you can usualy find these used pretty cheap. alot better than stock and pretty cheap to set up if you buy used parts.

right on, i think the hd springs might be a bit much for me at 155 pounds but +1 forks and hopefully xr80 swinger are in the very near future. Oh and it's not that i can't wheelie the bike like i can go about 10 feet in second or third standing up gasin it and pullin up....just can't see how people can do it sittin down and puttin

Take some air out of your back tire, sit as far back on the seat as possible and gas it up to the balance point. You have to get it to balance point quickly or you'll have to much revs. One more thing.. Rear hand brake will help a lot. | |

Rear suspension: XR75 swingarm and 335mm CT70 shocks from Honda TB. Total +4 swingarm. Front suspension: Stock outers, one BBR (or any stock length) HD and one Stock CRF spring, +1 chromoly fork legs, delrin bushings. Total +1.5 lift. (CRF spring is 1/2 inch longer than Z spring.) You will have 4.5 inches travel in rear and 3 inches travel up front if you do exactly what I did. |
