| just got a hardtail
I just picked this thing up and was wondering if some one here may have a rear fender and handlebar knobs. I am also selling the motor out of it so let me know if your interested. I am not sure the year but I think the frame and motor are 1970 and forks and tank 1968. I also will need exhaust, any sugestions? thanks

I might be able to dig up a couple of handlebar knobs. Need both of them? PM me either way. I'd like to hear more about the motor too. Are you going to hotrod it, or put a stock-type setup back in? The stock exhaust is appropriate for a 50cc--barely--but probably no more, unless you were going to do something mild like a stock head on a 72cc cylinder, and even then it might be a choker. The stock headpipes on those were pinched partly flat where they went into the muffler inlet, and the pipe i.d. is really small anyway. I'm guessing if you're getting rid of the stock motor you're talking restomod and if that's the case you won't want a stock pipe. My hardtail's still stock and I haven't gotten into the world of shiny exhaust fashion yet. My bike's still breathing through a soda straw. Last edited by mexicanyella; 01-10-2009 at 12:44 AM. |

tires, paint, seat cover, motor. make it kid friendly. My 86 was supposed to be for the kids but now has 110cc 4speed manual, hard to keep the front wheel down. Could gear it but it will still have clutch and then be less fun for me. so we'll see what happens with this one. have to go automatic (no foot brake). Have a running motor greg?

What's wrong with the motor in it now?

almost no compression, missing coil, carb, intake, side cover, shifter, and kicker, that I know of. easier to just replace it. I have had good luck in the past finding good complete runners for cheep (cheeper than parts).

You can have your Lifan back if you want to rebuild it...It barely ran when I pulled it and was leaking from the base gasket. Not sure what else happened. OH and I stole the stator for my Lifan 150. Are you thinking Chinese or Japanese? |

I do have one from the same year as yours. I did the valves and top end then parked it. I'll see if I can get her to fire and let you know. Its a decently clean runner, not a show piece.
