| Just Her Size...Custom Honda Z50(72cc H)
Well it's done and it feels good! This is my girls 1972 Honda Z50 with a CT70H engine. The bike has a rattle can paint job that came out real good. I built a custom exhaust using a CT70 head pipe and dropped in a CT70H engine with carb using a ATC70 intake. I know some of you guys may think it looks like a 70's toaster but I like the stripes(she does too)! The shocks are kinda trick also. I used CT70 springs and covers on Z50 shock bodies. Her little ass doesen't need the extra spring but I like to ride it too. With me on it(200lbs) it hits 45mph easy(I bet it can hit over 50mph with her 98 cents)! The seat came out real good but I do need to line up the tank with the stripes a little better. I'm really happy with the side stickers. I feel like they add enough black to tie everything in. Big ups to Jeff @ G-Force Graphics for the stickers. Now that I'm done with this I get to move on to my ZB50 or CT70 project. Thanks to Planetminis for a kick-ass site. Ride on, Jason

Nice looking bike there! Is that a 70's vintage Yamaha Enduro taillight you used? |

Cool lo-buck project! I like it. I wondered about the taillight too, and surprisingly despite its much larger size it seems to work with the overall look. Also you now have more square inches of glowing red object on the back; never a bad thing on a machine that small. Nice work, and I'd like to hear more about your custom exhaust. Did you graft a CT headpipe onto Z50 muffler, or is the Z50 heat shield hiding something that's no longer Z50-muffler-shaped? |

This is how I built the exhaust. What I did was cut the stock Z50 muffler in half and rip out all the guts. I cut the front section of a CT70 exhaust and mated it with copper plumbing pipe inside the Z50 muffler. This is a pic of the mock up. Before I welded the cover back on, I drilled holes in the last section of copper pipe and wrapped it with exhaust packing. The pipe is kinda loud but not too bad. I'm telling ya, I'm the king of white trash...
