K4 CT70 converting to Lifan 110 w/ 12 volt

I have a 1975 CT70 that has a 110cc Lifan going into it. I have the Lifan wiring harness and all the correct wiring and connections. My question: will the 12 volt battery carrier/support from DRATV fit properly? I have tried to email but haven't got an answer from them. Also wonderin if it copies the OEM Honda part for the 91-94 CT's. Cheers

The 1991-1994 CT's use a different type of seat latch mechism. I don't think you'll be fitting that style of battery box into an older 6V frame.

Look for a sealed 12V battery as I think they make them in a very similar size to your original battery.

You can run these on their sides. Any way but upside down.

I've heard these will work in your battery box. Lead Acid Battery similar to NP4-12 12V,4 amp - (eBay item 170090634840 end time Jan-06-08 07:30:12 PST)
I've not tried one yet in my '74 model ct70 but am planning to in a few months or sooner.

That will work. Just change around your battery connector and you'll be good to go..

You don't even need a battery, get an eliminator or big capacitor

Re: K4 CT70 converting to Lifan 110 w/ 12 volt

The Lifan 110 (if you are using electric start, turn signals, horn, headlight, etc.) uses a 5 amp battery.

The 4 amp will probably work just fine, but you may find that it may have a much shorter life since it is 20% under specs. That's a lot for a battery.

If you are not using electric start or the headlight for extended periods of time I don't think you'll have a thing to worry about.

Re: K4 CT70 converting to Lifan 110 w/ 12 volt

Thanks guys!!! I figure i should go with the NP4-12 type battery on Ebay...it is the smallest I can find about 3.5" L x 2.75" W x 4.2" H and change the connections. I will get a guy I work with to make a custom battery holder for it. I will have to do some designing for the holder but he is real good at making it work and look good.

My engine doesn't have elec. start but requires a battery to be street legal. It must be able to have the tailight lit without the engine running.

Again...thanks for your help!!
