depends on the swingarm you want.
your stock length swingarm +4 or +6....+10cm added on
for 330mm shocks you'll want to run a +10 and up

Be careful with the Kitaco aluminum swing arms the one that I bought for $275.00 the shock mounts bent from normal off road riding no jumping me and the bike are both to old for that but I contacted both the company that I bought it from & the manufacturer they both told me to bad that's the way it goes no warranty!!!

In the end, you just need to know the measurements of a stock z50 swingarm.

swing arms can go as long as +20cm
the width where the swinger bolts to the frame should be the same. not cutting required bolt on and go. just have to get the right length shock

i used this website for reference when i was thinking of parts for my builds
Monkeybike UK - Swing Arms

although it's not recommended to buy from them as they are overpriced and shipping is a bit much accross the "pond"

sorry no experience with a kitaco one yet
only with a cheap fleabay one that didn't fit well
and the G-Craft which is awesome. Great fit and finish.

I'm assuming most of the kitaco ones won't have any issues.

paging Razzomoto..... care to chime in?

not sure what you mean when you say, "lay shocks down"
i did end up running longer shocks to accommodate the swinger

by laying the shocks down i mean to move the stock shock mounting location down so it puts the shock on an angle rather being almost straight up for more travel.

no moving the stock location on the frame. just used the correct length shock for the swingarm. here's a look at mine. it's a really long swinger but the shocks i have coming will have the adjustable length of 315 to 340mm

ok well this is what ive got so far, im just mocking up brackets that i can use to lay the shocks down. i might just lengthen the stock swing arm because its cheaper and simple. tell me what you think of my rear fender i made out of a old cr250 front fender. the pics are not very clear but its good enough.

fender flows well.
but you'll probably want to run longer shocks rather than "laying down the shock"
just my opinion though

well for now im gonna lay them down, i know in the future i am going to get longer shocks and lots of other mods but for now i am just gonna do what i can and get it back together so i can ride. im thinking i should do what Z50KING did with his z50 swinger.

this is what id love to see my bike look like.
