lighting help

so... i have a headlight and tail light that i took off of my crf 450 when it was street legal and a moose stator on my 91 z 50. i have current coming out of the stator but none of the lights will work. i have all of the old wiring from the crf hooked up the same and figured i could just plug in the yellow wire like on the crf but nothing is happening. can anyone shine some light on this. (no pun) Thanks

Re: lighting help

You didnt mention having a voltage regulator and if you dont, you may have popped the bulbs as soon as you ran it. I believe the CRF450X taillight is LED's correct me if I'm wrong, I dont think you can run LED's with AC. You would need a regulator/rectifier to get DC for the LED's.

Re: lighting help

Do you have a meter to check the AC output of the stator ? Is there a ground wire coming from the stator harness to chassis ground ?
