Lighting Question

I am running a 110 Watt generator on one of my CT70's.

I have the wiring done so that the white wire from my engine runs into my rectifier. The red out of the rectifier then runs to the battery. The wiring for my lights all runs directly off that battery line.

So, the yellow line remains empty.

I was thinking about putting on a nice Halogen aux driving light to supplement the current light for night riding. I will likely get a 55W bulb.

Would it be better to run it off the Yellow line right off the rectifier or should I tie it into the battery side? I am really leaning to have it off the yellow line only because if the battery dies for some reason, I have an alternative to run directly off the stator.

So, either run it from the battery as part of the current lighting system or
Run it from the yellow line, into the rectifier, and directly to the light, bypassing the current lighting system.

Thoughts?

Re: Lighting Question

I woulds run it from the rectifier. Most bikes that are capable of running with or without batteries do that, and some CDI boxes do it as well...
