| Mini-Turds have hit the shores
It looks like the fake Z50 mini-turds have hit the shores. eBay Motors: Honda : Honda Recreation (item 320278173644 end time Jul-30-08 08 24 PDT)Notice this paragraph in the auction: These bikes are not sold as a street legal motorcycle. The bike is sold as a kit and each buyer will be given a bill of sale for this kit. The bikes carries a 30 day warranty. Please email if you have any questions. Thank you for bidding. Translation - The importer brought these bikes in illegally and they aren't EPA, NHTSA or DOT approved and the chance of getting these made street legal won't be an easy task or technically legal. And who is the manufacturer? Unknown... Keep in mind the steerer tube is not the same as the early Z50A, so a good chunk of the parts will not fit the geniune article. The tanks are longer since the frame is extended. The list goes on and on. Who is going to be the first person the purchase one of these turds? I can understand purchasing a panda since they were legally imported into the USA, but to copy the original Z50? Ugh... Rant off.. |

I can't believe they put the tank badge with the honda wing on it. And only on one side? Welcome to the U.S. miniturds.

I surely won't be the first middle last and everything in between to buy one, and I am proud to say that.

Impulse buyers are never in short supply and the fact that these little bikes turn heads means they will sell like hotcakes, regardless of their sh!t quality. They might serve their intended purpose - a few laps around the yard or campground before they're ready for the landfill. Why get it titled when it couldn't be trusted in traffic anyway?

only cool thing is in CT if its 50ccs or less you can get it street legal. They got rid of the pedal law aka your moped doesnt have to have pedals in order to ride it on the roads. To boot you dont have to have your licence to ride a moped on the roads here. So basically everyone and there cuzin has one now. Funny thing is i rock out on my c70 with a 88 kit on it and a pipe and i havent had a single problem with it. Ive even gotten pulled over 2 oclock in the morning by a state trooper and the only reason why is so he could tell everyone back at the station what happend. Keep in mind there was a crew or 7 of us haha.

these are kit bikes that the buyer puts together. so they are basically parts. there is ALOT of **** that honda should have sued over. there are a ton of knockoffs that are similiar to the xr 50 crf 50, and the ct 70. and the bikes are so old the patent is probably ran out on it.[/

Getting any bike legal for the road is easy here in Michigan. And with gas price's they way they are, people are not caring what it is, just as long as it gets good gas milage. Why do most Americans not understand, each and everyone one of us have sold out our country due too buying China made products... Brand name shoes, brand name clothes, after market car parts and so on. Im not for it, Im just stating the truth, take it as you want. |

Try to find a toy at Wal Mart, America's Store, not made in China. Sue one Chinese company, so two pop up to replace it once the publicity increases their sales. Saving a $>strength of economy. Sorta shortsighted.

Exactly right Terry! How did things get this way? I know this is a tad off topic Dan but this is how it all started. I dont blame the guy who selling them really, he's doing what he has too, or what he's come too know. I try too buy USA made products but even then, whos too say the lable "MADE IN THE USA" is real? If that bike was made here in the USA, it would cost the consumer $3500.00 or more too buy because every person who worked on it, made parts for it, has too drive a high $$ car (example). No one wants too live simple, we all want the best which cost alot. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, Im just ranting...Im sick of people living outside of their means. A depression is absolute with in the year too come....you hide and watch. |

btw they are selling it as a "recreation" a more fancy word then knockoff. i dont see anything happening with this. i bet those stickers or badges arent made by that company and they source them to cover their ass.
