Monkey, z50 questions..

Hi all!

I was looking around the forums and these Monkey bikes look pretty cool, but I have a few questions that maybe you guys could help answer. Is the z50 basically an off road monkey? Does anyone know if you can make the z50 street legal? I read that the only legal one out there is that Jincheng Panda, but has anyone successfully converted a z50? Also, if you manage to import a real Monkey from Japan is there anyway to make that one street legal? Thanks in advance!

First the z50 was built with the intent of off road use. it is possible to convert it to a street monkey bike style. although plating one would be tricky as in CA you would have to go the dual reg method. Pandas can be plated in CA very easy. Just walk into the DMV with your MSO from a 05 or earlyer panda and reg it as a motorcycle. A imported monkey bike can be reged in CA i have one in my posesion (belongs to a friend of mine) so i know it can be done im just not fully aware of the steps to do so.

I have no complaints. Ive seen it side by side with a z50 and there is just a very slight differance in the weld quality.
