Very nice Eddie. I just did my first top end rebuild a few weeks ago.

Carb: VM26. Start your base jetting about 22.5/175 and work from there. I started 17.5/165 and I'm too lean.

| Re: Motor install pics with my new Shift up stand The rebuild went ok. I had to pull the head off twice since my dumbass was trying to reuse the Takegawa thin metal head gasket. The gasket didn't seal well so it wouldn't start and had low compression. So I had to pull the motor back out and take the head off again. Ended up using the super thick TB gasket I had. At least I know how to take off the head and cylinder quick now lol. I might order the Takegawa head gasket since I think the TB one is robbing the motor of some power. |

Have you considered a piston with a larger dome or milling the head?

you would probably have to re mill the oil return if you deck the jug, but I hear kitaco cylinders don't use the same o-ring for an oil return so you can deck them. Not sure the truth behind this.

I don't plan to do any internal changes on this motor. This motor will eventually go into my Monkey project and the CRF will get a different motor (tbd).

Hey Pete... How about a minty TB117 for your CRF? ![]() It may just find it's way to the "for sale" section any day now...
