| My CT70 need motor advice
Here are a few pics of my CT70 roller i picked up off craigslist for 100 bucks. all there except for the motor, carb and airbox. the most rust is the discoloration on the wheels and the shock where the pipe was. i grabbed a ct70 motor of ebay for 25 bucks that turns over. i duno what my plans are for the motor build im open for suggestions. I don't really plan on doing much with it till the winter when i cant ride and am bored.

did you get a street registered title with it? if so i'd stick somehting big in it... maybe a bore kit on the old CT motor or get a lifan or GPX 125 and rock that pupy on the streets.... My next mini is gonna be a CT so i can cruise around on it and bust wheelies in public parking lots then ride off to work or home |

i didn't get a title but from what i hear i shouldn't have any problem registering it. i have been told there a few options that i have. if i were to drop in a newer non points motor im not sure if i would have to re wire the whole thing. with the ct its plug and in and go.

since you have the motor out and probably need a topend tuneup as well as a working carb, id buy a trailbikes 88 kit and 20mm carb kit.youll have to spent a few bucks upfront but its better than spending money to get that tired stock engine to run only to tear it down again 6 months later and put an 88 kit on.the bike looks good shape, good score.

With the Trailbikes 88cc Kit, 20mm carb and cam, and a good exhaust with the stock 3 speed, it will be a 55mph bike with 16T 35T rear sprockets. I'd get new coils from trailbikes and the points and condensor while you are at it and go through the entire bike to make sure your grounds are good. Run a new battery. If you don't, you'll blow all of the new headlamp bulbs you install. |

$100? Damn! That's a great deal. One day I'll get lucky with a find like this.

yeah battery is shot and i plan on replacing the coil, points and condenser with tb stuff. believe it or not the guy who sold it to me had it mounted on a big spring pole and was planning on mounting it in the sandbox for the kids to play on but the kids liked the z that he had more. i saved it from rusting away in a sandbox. it actually had the spring pole bolted upto it when i showed up i had to take it off before i loaded it up.

I know someone that as a 52mm x 52mm 110cc DRATV build for sale that is brand new that would make this bike do about 65mph with great power. I don't know what he wants for it though...I saw it sitting on his bench while in Ohio and he said we wanted to sell it since he fitted up a china engine. It was a 4-speed motor with clutch and all honda except the crank, cylinder, and piston. It was a points motor.
