| My first build
So now that I'm almost done my second build it seems like the time to post the pics of my first. I bought 2 1973 z50's off a guy in South Carolina when I was there on vacation a couple of years ago - hauled them back to the beach house where we were staying in the back of our rental SUV, tore them apart on the front lawn and mailed them back to myself in Canada. Just by fluke I used US Post and man am I ever happy - given the crazy customs charges that UPS throws on everything crossing the border. So to make a long story short, I've been plugging away at these over the last couple of years, learning as I go. The results aren't show worthy by any stretch but there was a significant budget factor at work as well. If something could be re-conditioned it was so that ate up quite a bit of time. The tank I'm not particularly crazy about but since this bike is for the little woman and she wanted a lightning bolt, there it is. Mine, which I'm just waiting for some wiring pieces to show up from DrATV to finish off - well, lets just say that it should be a bit quicker. Anyways - some before and some after. Cheers! |

I like the Lighting Bolt reminds me of Captain Marvel-Shazam! Last edited by drewbird911; 02-25-2009 at 03:23 PM. Reason: Added Photo |

Thanks to everyone for the comments. I just basically wanted to get the little woman into riding since if she's interested my budget goes up. My only regret was that if I only knew then about the availability of parts like wheels and such I could have bought new ones for less than the price of shipping and blasting. |
