on my way over to the Z side... kinda **PIC added**

Well, I have decided to create a little hybrid project. Part Z, part CRF, and all fun. The customizing is why we got into this in the first place... right??

I have all these parts sitting around for a CRF, and a frame is all that is required to assemble it completely, but I have really wanted to go the metal-tank route for some time and even contemplated building a CT70... but I just want to utilize as many parts that I currently have as I can. I will have some fab work to do... but that is part of the fun anyways... so try to picture the following and keep in mind... 90% of what is listed below is sitting on my shelf I just needed to find something to do with it.

- Z50 frame (modified to accept my A-style swingarm, Elka shock)
- Stratos forks shortened to 3" travel (already done... part of decision for this build)
- Motard50s billet wheels with Heidenau K61s 120/70-10 R and 100/80-10 F.
- BBR rear disc brakes both on both front and rear wheels (caliper may vary depending on mounting issues with forks
- Honda Monkey tank (or replica) - **Do not yet have this and Trailbikes is out of stock at the moment. Anyone have one, let me know**
- G-craft style Monkey seat (or similar)**dont have this yet either**
- TB108 with oil cooler and Staintune exhaust for CRF (may need modification or even become a down-under style depending on my mood)

everything else will naturally happen as I go... color scheme is undecided.

Re: on my way over to the Z side... kinda *no pics yet*

i have a NOS replica tank in yellow that i bought and thought i'd use if ever i decided to go motarding or stunting.
one small dime size dent and you'll need a petcock and gas cap.
i'll see if i can find some pics if you're interested.

i also have a cf-posh seat in the monkey classified section if you want to go that route

Yeah, don't get the g-craft seat. It's sooo last year

Sounds like fun. How wide are those billet rims? 2.5"?

I was waiting for the next letter to appear Z than the "B" ZB50

c'mon now... if i wanted a crf frame, i would just use the one in the pic. It will be easier for me to make a Z frame accept this swingarm/shock than it will to try and make a subframe fit a Z seat and the main spar fit the tank.

sit back son, and have a look when its complete.

leave the custom stuff to those of us that love the tinkering.

Re: on my way over to the Z side... kinda *no pics yet*

so where will the shock mount? because the fixed subframe is going to in the way of the mount...

but i you know what your doing?

edit, are you going to do what razzo just did with his monoshock z style frame?

Sounds like a great project. Gotta love a "not just bolt ons" build.

that lower single spar on the subframe will be cut out and a twin one put in to allow the shock to pass through to the upper mount that I will fab up. The shock/swingarm combo wont allow the setup Razzo did.

hmmmmm....

Superness, when I saw you bike I realized that the pic was almost the same size and angle of my pic... so I did a quickie 30 second photo edit to represent what mine just might be. I will do something with fenders, etc. I am going all black with the wheels for sure after seeing this.

Headlights, taillights, etc... will really start helping it look less like a CRF. Yes, I will make it street legal if anyone is wondering.

I have no doubts, can't wait to see what you do. You have done some amazing stuff (way ahead of your time) on the crf50's motard side, start rocking the Monkey side now!!
