Hey guys im starting to think about a pain scheme for my monkey project cause its getting near that time. Right now the current idea is black paint on Tank fendors and headlight bucket and accent with green anodized here and there. Also recover the seat so the piping is green, and maybe do some airbrushing on the tank with green. Ideas? |

The mean green machine! HOK Chameleon Silver to Green on the tank, fenders, headlamp bucket. Would be the dogs balls! You need to ditch the stock bucket and get yourself a cluster with a tach. God knows you'll need a speedo that reads over 75mph.

The plus side to green is that it really hasn't been done correctly before, and done correctly would look stunning.

My Mood: | WHAT??!! Change perfection?
Hey Brad... Save yourself the hassle... The paint scheme looks great as is. Just change the piping on the seat to a matching color... The existing paint is classy and understated. And the bike has the "nutz" to back it up!! Too fancy a paint job will draw attention away from the engineering and towards the "fluff"... I say let her buck as is!!! Why change perfection??

Cause i did the paint job that is on it now, and ive never been happy with it. there are some big time imperfections in it. i feel its time for a change up to finish it off and take away from what it originaly started as. ![]()

you can see it in the pin on this pic. its crooked and has a lip in it. Just not perfect you know. why have a all out bike with a half ass paint job? Last edited by reynolds_brad; 03-20-2006 at 10:22 AM. |

those pics are awesome!!...... I am not sure about the green .. miata has a killer dark color is very deep black cherry mica drop in some flakes . a buddy of mine painted his ysr that color.. with a tiny bit of silver . the bike looks insane and the color is so deep that it looks wet!! you can always go to a high impact colors like mopars green (lime green or sassy green)or hemi orange!!

I agree with moosehunter that you should leave it how it is. If you want to paint it, I would not agree with green. It's just too, well, green. And also, don't leave your bike on a table like in your first picture. It looks like it's going to fall off.
