Got my new shocks today, bu they don't fit on the stock swinger so now i am in search of either an XR75 swinger or something aluminum for my Z...

anyone have anything used or know where i can get something fairly cheap?

i would have put this in the classifieds but i've NEVER gotten a responce to a want-add there.. so mods please dont' move this unless you fell you absolutely must..
thanks

What is the length of your shocks you just aquired? It's going to make a difference on the length of your swinger. Additionally, if nobody is responding to your want ad in the other section, it's because there isn't very much Z50 aftermarket parts in this country, let alone used stuff.

Don't post want ads in the talk section in the future please.

13 inches is like 335mm give or take some mm. Most people would run those on a 16cm over stock swingarm and those shocks are for a CT70, not a z50. Either get an aftermarket +12-+16cm stock swingarm, or get shorter shocks.

If you need another stocker... I have a stock swinger from a 73 or 74 "Z" just sitting here... Maybe with your skills, you could morph the two and get what ya need... Just a thought...

that's kind of what i was thinking, i need to convert mm to inches ( my mind is not functioning today, i just got back from camping out all night ) but my first thought was to get another winger and lengthen the one i have, but i found a sweet one on ebay that's a +2 aluminum ( not sure on the quality as it's only 120 bucks)

we'll just have to see.. i've got untill april to finish so there's plenty of time

Re: need extended swinger

I got a real nice XR75 swinger from eBay for $20-$30 shipped. Then 15 minutes of modification and it fit my frame. Another half hour of removing and smoothing unwanted mounts, and it was ready for paint. I used the TB 335 mm shocks and it went together really well. The XR75 swingarm is +4 in over stock.

Re: need extended swinger

not bad at all...what years should i be looking for?

i still might go aluminum, but if the budget gets too tight i might have to go that route

Re: need extended swinger

Hehe. I used to have all the years that are compatible in writing somewhere. But I know I don't have it anymore. I think mine is from a 77. But I really don't know. There are a couple years of the XR80 that use the exact same part number swingarm. So they are compatible too. Sorry but I don't know what years to search for.

The '80 to '84 XR80 swingarms are all the same, glenn.
