Replace your points and condenser. You will be surprised how many members (including myself) wasted time and $ when the problem was just those two parts. Start there.

Hell, if you're having trouble finding parts nearby just file, clean and adjust the points first. You may not have to replace anything. Set them to .012-.016", then see if the spark improves. It's easier to file them with the flywheel removed, but you can sort of do it through the access holes if your flywheel has them ('74 should). Clean them well after filing them (aerosol electronic cleaner is nice and doesn't eat resin off the coils) and set the gap with flywheel installed, since points cam is part of the flywheel. Double check gap after setting; it's prone to change sneakily as you tighten the points screw up...
