| new ct70
hey guys, just found this forum so here are a couple of questions, i have a 1972 ct70h, i can only get 41mph out of it with a 14 front 45 rear....im about 200lbs.. if i switch to a 15 front 35-38 rear what kind of top speed am i looking at? also, if i where to build one what motor would you guys recomend and where do i find one?? i saw one that had a honda 125m three wheeler motor that looked like it went pretty good.. any help would be great, thanks for your time |

41 mph is pretty standard for your size. I weigh 235 and 41 is a nice cruising speed for my HKO too. I put a 15 tooth sprocket up front and it didn't help much other than lower the RPMs at top end. At stock gearing it's pretty much as good as it's going to get. The motor can't lug much more with heavier riders

41mph is maxed right out engine screaming!!! i would say a nice crusing speed on it is about 28... |

Probably running out of power and gear about the same time. Try the front first and see if it pulls it. Even a taller tire if you have one around.
