| New CT70 Owner Intro & Questions
Just bought my first CT70 and thought I'd introduce myself. Name is Aaron and I live in Anchorage, AK. I've been riding dirtbikes for years and currently ride a WR450F. For mini bikes, I've had a '76 Chappy that I rode around college but it hasn't been running for a few years. I just bought a '78 Honda Express that is in great condition and I've been riding it around town a bit. A friend was just given two CT70s and after he showed them to me, I knew I wanted to find one and fix it up. I picked up this CT70 a few weeks ago off craigslist (from a guy that lives in a plywood house/shack that looked like a castle). The past owner had started to install a 110cc 3wheeler motor but didn't get very far with the install. The frame is solid but the bike needs a lot of work. Plans:

Thanks in advance for any info you may have! |

I also just bought a 71 ct70. I would also like to here some answers to these questions. What's the deal with K0 vs. K1?

According to the Honda Motorcycle Identification Guide, the K0 model was available from '69 through '71, and all models had a 6-digit frame and engine number. The K1 came out in 4/72, and has a 7-digit set of numbers. The frame tube graphics are consistent with those of a K0, as shown HERE. |

Is that a ATC110 engine under that CT70? edit: yes, I hope the engine mounting points have not been changed if you want to go the lifan 125 route. |

Ah, thanks for the info. Definitely a K0 then. I was confused by some info on another website. The 110 did require new lower mounting holes, but I bolted in the 125 tonight and those new mounting points don't interfere. The bike is stripped down and will be taken to be powdercoated once I figure out what forks to use. Any fork suggestions? My inner fork tubes are all rusted up. | |
