| New Guy with questions of course....
Howdy.
Done lurking and decided join up. Great forum.
I've got a Sapphire 1970 CT70KO restored garage queen and a couple candy yellow HK1's.
I'm starting to build up one of the HK1's and trying to decide on some of the parts. I'm a big guy on a little bike so a motor swap and suspension is going to happen. I'm tired of punishing this poor little thing!
I want a disc front and have been looking at the 30mm trail buddies fork and disc setup. Anyone running it and have any comments on the forks? I searched but couldn't find much. Probably will get their aluminum swinger and mount up a pair of posh harley shocks on the rear.
Looking for an engine good for slow work in tight steep trails. I don't need a racer, but will need the cc's compensate for outweiging the bike by 100 pounds. Hoping to have enough to cruise 45 on the road without winding it out and be able to hit 50+ when needed.
I'm considering a pitster classic to rob the electrical, engine and front end from hoping it will be enough since its cheap and I can build another working bike out of the leftovers, but couldn't find anyone that has done it. Think the 125 and forks from it would be enough (like it's ever enough........)
