My Mood: | Oh Boy, I need help again
as a bunch of you I have been having trouble getting the correct sprocket for my 72 ct70HK1 and the lifan 125cc, well after running in my garage for about a month without a sprocket on it I finally got it on and got one pass down the driveway, before my kick start doesnt turn over my engine, it will turn it over when there is a low amount of compression, but then it just slips, anyone else have a problem with the lifan doing this???? and if so how do I fix it. Thank you Justin

i just reread my first post and let me explain again... my kick start used to kick just fine and just two days ago, I kicked on it and it seemed to slip right through the cycle, but there was no grinding or anything like that, that made me think I had broken teeth, and if I turn it over by hand, then it will turn over with the kick start. please help

well if ya can push the kicker down with one or two fingers, the starter is not engaging...if it requires more effort than that it is possible that the clutch plates are slipping

well you can first adjust it to see if that helps and if not you will need to replace the plates or springs

Loosen the clutch adjuster lock nut and turn adjuster bolt 1 full turn counter-clockwise. Turn the adjuster bolt clockwise until resistance is felt. Turn 1/8th turn back counter clockwise and tighten lock nut.

| Re: Oh Boy, I need help again I bought the bike second/third/forth hand , I dunno - used anyway. Motor is out of a K2, now in a lifan frame. The starter has been 'that way' since I got it. Basically you kick and it has little or no resistance and makes a whiiirrrrp type sound...similar sound as if you rubbed your fingernail down a backpack or thin carpet...and it obviously makes no attempt to crank the motor. I probably do three false kicks before I get a good one that cranks the motor. I always thought it had something to do with teeth not being properly aligned internally and I just accepted it.... sani |
