| Old vs new Z50r interchangability question
will the 90's z50r tanks/seats/rear fenders/side panels bolt on to an 84 z50r?

d0n, there are a couple small differences, the '88 and up have a small "subframe" that not only supports the fenders, but has two holes to mount the seat bolts to. also, on the frame itself, you need to have the rubber grommets on either side of the gas tank mount, for the front portion of the fenders to clip into. I just posted a couple pics of a '92 frame I'm working on in the "I'll show you mine..." thread, if you want to get a better look. I can also send you a closeup of that frame, if need be. I'll look at my '84 frame and see if it is possible to adapt the newer stuff to the '84 frame. |
