Painting the wheels

I decided since the front wheel was off, I'd go ahead an paint it. I used the same paint as I did for the shock absorbers. It's from Advance Auto Parts and by Dupli-Color. The paint code is DSFM226. Unfortunately, I ran out of paint and only finished the hub, brake panel, and one rim half.

What I've painted so far.

Before and after.

Close up to show color match.

The can on the right is what I used.

The Duplicolor Wheel Paint number WP101 or 111 is almost an exact match of honda oem paint. I used it on my honda ct70 restoration and my current ct70 bike. Damned if anyone can tell.

My Mood: Drunk
Proper paitning process would be to strip the old paint, get rid of the rust, use etching primer, then your final paint.

I just followed the directions on the can. It said lightly paint with 400 grit sandpaper. Revove all rust, and prime bare metal. So I sanded everywhere, primed where the rust was and then painted it. I would coider red rubs if I rad R-120 paint. All I have is something from Home Depot to use on my bicycle. I had nothing to match because I was painting all the bolts red.
